O Christmas Tree...

Two weekends ago we went to a neighbor's farm and cut our own Christmas tree. Greta really enjoyed helping her daddy decorate. We don't have to worry about the ornaments too much because she is actually scared of the tree and won't go near it.

Alright, here are some recent pics for my large reading public - aka Heidi and Laura :-)

Greta has really taken to stuffed animals in the past few weeks. She loves to hug and cuddle with anything soft.


She also loves "reading" books. Today for the first time she picked up a book and came and sat in my lap to read. She is really into pointing at things too. Jon and I always play a game and ask her major life questions, like "Greta, who should do the dishes?" And then she points (mostly at Daddy)


All of that reading makes her look extra intelligent ...


Raggedy Ann is her absolute favorite doll. She drags Raggedy around by her red yarn hair most of the day. One day Jon brought Greta home from Grandma Marge's and Greta walked straight toward my open, waiting arms and then walked right by me and picked up and hugged Raggedy. Times like those make you feel so loved as a mom :-)

"Seriously Mom, no more pictures!" Ironically this little photo shoot did end with Greta falling off the chair onto her face. Just one more bruise to add to her collection.

Sunday Afternoons

A few pictures from last Sunday, a typical day of Greta and her daddy watching football (go Packers!) Two important things to note:

1. This is the last picture I have of Greta's gummy smile. She now proudly sports two top teeth.
2. This is the last picture taken of Jon with glasses, he is equally proud of his new "lasik" 20/20 vision.

It's been awhile

Sorry for the long time between posts. Last time I wrote Greta had just started crawling. Now, one month later, she is taking her first steps. She is quite pleased with herself :-)

These pictures are a few weeks old. I will try and get some current ones up soon.

A Close Crawl

Greta has earned herself yet another nickname. We now affectionately call her "pegleg". Here is the video of her first day of crawling. It's a little hard to tell in the video, but she only crawls with her right leg while she drags her left leg along.

Big Girl!

Greta amazes me daily with all her new tricks. This morning I was downstairs working on the computer and Greta was playing in her room by her bookshelf. I went upstairs to check on her and she had pulled all of the books off her bookshelf. I am sure this is just the first of many messes! Sometimes I feel like I am watching a time lapse camera, but that is how fast she is changing. I better stop writing before I start crying :-)
